Best Brunches On Retro Row
In the midst of an eclectic community nestled on a row of vintage shops and coffee houses, Long Beach’s 4th Street is most commonly referred to as “Retro Row”. Known for an abundance of vintage shops and thrift stores, the row also has an abundance of the most unique and farm fresh coffee houses and cafes ideal for the perfect friendly brunch! Here’s a list of my favorite places to brunch on Retro Row!
RESTAURATION
2708 E. 4th Street in Long Beach
Theme: Restauration is a combination of two defining pillars of the Long Beach community: restaurant+restore
Food: Menus are seasonal! The food is locally sourced and responsibly grown, using seasonal ingredients based on the abundant bounty available on the Southern and Central Coast. Many options on the menu are served family style intended for sharing. They have craft beer on draft and in large bottles from all over the world! They also have a wine list that highlights small producers from California and other unique wine growing regions from afar.
Aesthetic: The interior and exterior have a majority rustic aesthetic complimented by earthy tones with wood benches and tables and an abundance of greenery in the back! With repurposed lighting, handmade tables & benches, a 50-seat fire lit patio encircled with vertical gardens, Restauration creates a warm and refreshing environment for all!

PORTFOLIO COFFEE HOUSE

As probably Retro Row’s Finest Coffee House, Portfolio hosts Stumptown Coffee, Art by local artists, Vinyl Nights, live music from local bands and even Sunday Vegan Brunch! Their coffee is personally my favorite and I love the diverse community the coffee house warmly welcomes!

Food: From vegan pastries to Smoked Salmon Flatbread, Berlin Bistro serves a diverse amount of foods for the modern individual looking for fresh organic comfort food! They have great wine and mimosa deals and
Aesthetic: With a rustic minimalistic interior and a backdrop of reclaimed brick and wood for dining in, the coffee house serves as a comfortable and welcoming Contemporary Bistro!

Theme: Their motto is to create “fresh, locally sourced, delicious food” in an enjoyable family friendly and social environment.
Food: They specialize in creating comfort food in small shared plates, seasonal sandwiches, salads, and entrées, as well as a wide selection of craft beer, wine, and spirits! Their happy hour has the best deals ranging from Tallboy Tuesdays and Wine Wednesdays!
Aesthetic: With art by local artists and a rustic interior, the Social List creates a overall European-style tavern filled with long wooden tables and steel stools surrounded by comfortable and close booths!
