3 Simple Ways to Destress and Get Your Sh*t Together
IDK about you, but Finals are coming up (for me, at least) and I still am scheduled for work in the mean time and also planning and prepping for a Christmas party, not to mention am overwhelmed and broke from Christmas shopping…SO here’s 3 simple ways to calm down (that I use myself and actually WORK) and destress so you can get your sh*t together when you’re overwhelmed (like moi)
-
Make/Organize Your Schedule
I know some people aren’t super organized planners, but wow does it help in times like these. I keep everything on my google calendar: special events, birthdays, work schedule, even my class schedule. Having an organized calendar makes sure to keep you organized and always updated on what’s coming next so you don’t have any surprises and avoid procrastinating.

MEDITATE: Light Some Candles and Turn On Some Music
A lot of people think meditating is sitting in silence and saying “ohm” for a whole hour. Well, you’re WRONG. Meditating can be sitting in silence or surrounded in calming music and just being centered with yourself. Take 10 minutes for some down time to take some breathing exercises and close your eyes. 10 minutes a day is all you need to just be. Studies also show that people have much more of a productive day when they meditate. Candles also help with aromatherapy. I recommend lavender or eucalyptus scented candles and music without lyrics.

Clean Your Room
A cluttered room makes for a cluttered mind.
No, seriously. When my room is messy I just feel like I don’t have my sh*t together. My clothes are all over the floor, there’s leftover coffee mugs. If you’re someone who can study in filth, you’re a one of a kind species, but being in a clean space really does help ease the mind.
SO yea, if you’re juggling studying for finals and working a job, spreading yourself thin, take some time off. Just a few minutes a day (literally 10-15) can make the biggest difference.
Happy Destressing!
