Not-So-Basic Essential White Tees

IT’S 2018 SO HOW ABOUT BUILDING THAT DREAM WARDROBE??

Everyone wants pieces that are flattering to their bodies and pieces they can wear several times on several occasions. HOWEVER, a recurring theme I see when I peer into a family or friend’s closet is a severe lack of basics. YES, I said it.

You can never have enough basics: basic white tees, basic black tees, basic jeans, etc. Basics are a closet staple that EVERYONE must have. This is the bliss of having basics: You can literally dress them up or down, can blend in or make a statement and can be worn on several occasions. You always notice when someone wears a statement piece that’s bright and stands out often. It’s just so easy to recognize and therefore, you don’t get much of a use in purchasing crazy fun pieces often.

BASICS ARE KEY TO A PUT-TOGETHER CLOSET (I REPEAT).

White, black and tan colors basically suit EVERYONE’S skin tone and these colors can be worn with denim, corduroy, etc. With black, white and tan basics, you can play with textures and fits. My go-to is having a variety of basic white tees. I just find white most flattering on my skin tone and most wearable with majority of bottoms I own (which is a lot of denim and corduroy).

Here’s some of my absolute fave not-so-basic white tees that are to die for!

Okay, I know the LNA Sylvan Tee kinda reminds you of cheese (with the holes and all), but I didn’t pay attention to this tee until I tried it on and HOLY SMOKES FOLKS, the cutouts on the sleeves frame your arms so well and the vee is perfect flirty cut. The little distressing just gives it that edge it needs to be the perfect edgy flirty tee!

The LNA Smiths Cutout Tee on the right is probably my favorite out of all these tees! It’s easy to wear with denim and other bottoms! I can wear this with my fave jeans, distressed or non-distressed, tuck them in, wear with beach pants, shorts, skirts, etc. It’s the perfect basic with the cutout (that you should not try to make at home, it’s made by LNA for a reason) that gives it that edgy pop.

I love tie tees! The LNA Raw Tie Tee on the left is perfect for jeans to dress up with or leggings for a casual errand run or yoga run! It’s also flirty enough to wear with distressed denim shorts!

The Julita Tie Tee on the right by Amour Vert is probably the most basic of the four, but I absolutely love the cute little side knot! The way the sleeves are framed and cut give it that fitted yet loose look and the fabric and feel of the tee is so comfy!

AND, last but not least, I am OBSESSED with this Rag & Bone Tee:

Rag & Bone Dahlia Tee

This is my favorite white tee. It’s loose and light, with the perfect flattering neckline and length to tuck into jeans or wear flowy and free! The vertical layered lines on the side give this tee it’s flattering shape around the waist! This framed look and length is flattering on all figures and by far the best not-so-basic white tee (in my opinion).

Again, I emphasize sticking to basics when building your wardrobe at first. Basics are the foundation to any successfully put-together wardrobe. You get the most use out of basics and the tees above are the perfect start to a fresh and flirty 2018!

Happy Shopping!

xx, Bri.
