Best Happy Hours in the LBC

We’re talking about sips and eats in this post so I’m pretty stoked to write about this.

If you follow me on Insta and even my food Insta here, you know I love a damn good Happy Hour.

It’s my favorite time of day (probably as much as weekend brunches) because it’s the perfect way to wind down in the evening…or TURN UP (ha)

Here’s a list of my favorite places in Long Beach, CA where I got to for the happiest of hours.

Bo-Beau’s Kitchen and Rooftap Bar

img_0705UGH, this is literally my #1 FAVE Happy Hour in LB. Located in downtown, this pretty place has a restaurant downstairs with a cozy fireplace and and a rooftop bar upstairs. There’s also a mini arcade in the back corner and I swear the restroom is a replica of the one in Harry Potter where Moaning Myrtle hung out. ANYWAYS, if you aren’t a Harry Potter fan, no worries. This place has the best food and drinks. I always order the balsamic glazed parmesan brussel sprouts (I don’t even like brussel sprouts, but look what Bo-Beau’s made me do) I also order their flatbread and a sangria or wine. They have the perfect shared plates!  They have great cocktails, too so if I get one I usually get the Thyme De La Nuit or the bartender’s special. Their Social Hour lasts till 7pm and you can barhop right after on Pine or walk over the Blind Donkey for more games and drinks.

The Blind Donkey

img_0706SPEAKING OF THE BLIND DONKEY, aside from the fact that this is where they filmed Seb’s Club with Ryan Gosling from La La Land, this is probably my second favorite bar in Long Beach. They don’t provide food here, but they have great drinks and the Whiskey Sour is a MUST. It doesn’t matter if you prefer one alcohol over another, I’ve never introduced a whiskey sour to someone and have them not like it. Also, their happy hour is till’ 8 and they have LOTS of fun games like ski ball, pool, darts, shuffleboard and Pacman! They’re especially fun on Tuesdays for Trivia Night!

The Social List

Okay, so the food here is so good it should be illegal. They have half off most of the shared plates and I swear EVERYTHING is so tasty and satisfying here for meat lovers, vegetarians and even vegans! There’s lots of gluten free options, too! I always order the Castro Fries and the Butternut Squash Toast. Also, their happy hour differs daily. I like to go on Wine Wednesdays for half off the bottle! There’s also plenty of vintage stores and thrift shops on this street to explore before or after!

Gladstone’s

If you’re looking for a fun date by the water, Gladstone’s is a great place to spend one. It’s literally right on the water and they have great CRABBY hour deals on their steamed black mussels and jerk wings. They also have great deals on Mai Tais and Mojitos. After or before, you can take a walk by the water and bar hop to one of the restaurants on the pier, like Yard House or Tequila Jack’s that also has Happy Hour deals. Since it’s located downtown, there’s also the Pike that’s walking distance to explore, catch a movie at the theater or grab dessert!

Other places I enjoy Happy Hour (but not necessarily my faves) are

  • ROE on 2nd (Fresh Seafood and Great Spicy Margaritas)
  • PADRE for Tuesdays (Great taco and beer Deal)
  • 39 Degrees for Sushi (GREAT Sushi Prices)
  • George’s Greek Cafe (Great food, Great Portions, LOVE their Wine Wednesday deals)

These are just some of my local faves for Happy Hour.

I’ll do a separate post on my favorite bars or happy hours in Huntington, Newport and Laguna Beach soon!

What are your favorite places to celebrate your evenings?

CHEERS!

xx, Bri.
