Desert X 2019

I’d just like to say, I’m very proud of myself for not getting stupid drunk at a bar this St. Patrick’s Day and actually going camping to see some art and nature instead.

The fresh air was worth it, though I highly underestimated the cold in the dead of night.

Three things I noted:

  1. I’m terrible at setting up tents
  2. I got a fire permit and still have no idea how to start a fire
  3. (Always have friends that are experienced campers-they come in handy)

First things first,

WTF is Desert X?

Desert X is and outdoor contemporary art exhibit held in the Coachella Valley in Southern California. The art pieces are spread out throughout the valley and you need a map to find each piece. Oddly enough, some pieces are in the middle of neighborhoods and some pieces are in the middle of nowhere right off the freeway. Each piece’s description can be found here.

Here’s some snippets of my little art and camping adventure this weekend.

If you’re thinking of visiting, I’ll tell you it’s well worth the adventure. The exhibit stands till April 21 this year. Don’t miss out!

engaged!
